We are happy to announce the 7th International Conference on Speech Motor Control, to be held in Groningen, the Netherlands, July 5 - 8, 2017.

The University of Groningen welcomes the 7th International Conference on Speech Motor Control. The aim of this conference is to advance interdisciplinary and fundamental research in speech production and pathology by bringing together prominent scientists and talented young researchers of multiple fundamental disciplines (neurosciences, engineering, human movement sciences, genetics, psychology, and linguistics) as well as clinical areas (neurosurgery, medicine, and speech and language pathology).

The atmosphere of the conference is friendly and supportive. There are no parallel sessions, poster presentations are valued equal to oral presentations, excellent catering keeps attendees together during the day, thereby stimulating both formal and informal exchange of ideas and experiences. As a sign of positive feedback the organizers of the SMCs have witnessed many returning participants.
